Beauty often missed
Since I’ve begun sitting here
I’ve heard the chorus of crickets
Seen many winged insects
Float before me
I saw a portly frog
Do a cannonball
I listened to the crow rasply
Tell the news of the day
Water trickles over the falls
The river barely floats bye
The sun setting through the trees
Turns the forest into glittery gold
There is a thick spider web
Over a hole above me in a tree
I’m sure it’s in there
I just haven’t seen it yet
Most people would move
Before they see the
Spectacularly ordinary beauty
But not me
There’s nowhere else to be
So I’ll sit and wait
And see
Beauty often missed
